SLOUGH Jets secured their second win of the season against Oxford City Stars in the National Ice Hockey League on Saturday.
The Jets won the first fixture between the two sides back in September but were beaten in Oxford two weeks later before gaining some revenge with a 5-2 victory at The Hangar.
A goal from Timo Lindgren gave Slough the lead inside 26 seconds and Liam Underdown doubled the advantage before the first buzzer.
The scores remained that way until both Christian Mohr and Adam Rosbottom found the back of the net in the first seven minutes of the final period to secure the points for The Jets.
Oxford pulled a goal back on the powerplay through Dax Hedges, but Mohr restored the four-goal lead for Slough – again on the powerplay – before captain Joshua Florey bagged a consolation effort in the final seconds.
The win means the Jets remain in fifth position in the South One league table ahead of a visit to The Hangar from Bracknell Hornets this Saturday (5.45pm). The two rivals have won one match apiece in the two matches so far this season.
Slough then make the trip to Milton Keynes Thunder on Sunday (6.45pm) looking to build on their two wins against the bottom side in the division already this season.
