SLOUGH completed back-to-back wins in the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Premier for the first time this season after a 40-7 victory at Oxford on Saturday.
The Greenies had failed in attempts to back up any of their previous five league wins but were too good for bottom side Oxford at the Southern Bypass Ground.
The game started with Oxford applying constant pressure, but the visiting defence held firm and Slough were able to break the deadlock after 10 minutes. The ball was spread wide from a set piece for Sam Rowe to score in the corner, but the conversion attempt was missed.
Slough increased the advantage when Matteo Pascucci picked the ball up from the base of the ruck and dived over in the corner in the 29th minute. Max Miles slotted the conversion between the posts.
Some more great play between the Greenies backs and forwards took them to within the 10-metre line and space was created for Ben Ambrose to go over under the posts. Miles booted the extra points and the visitors led 19-0 on the half-time whistle.

The visitors carried on with their momentum in the second half as it took less than a minute to overrun the Oxford defence allowing Ben Foster to score the all-important bonus point try. Miles added the conversion.
Ambrose managed to squeeze over for his second try of the game shortly after and the extra points from the boot of Miles gave Slough a 33-0 lead.
Miles then broke up play in the middle of the pitch and took his side close to the Oxford line. A silly offload threatened to derail the move, but Aaron Bryant collected the loose ball scored under the posts. The conversion attempt was successful.
As the game wore on the focus for Slough was to keep the opposition scoreless but a poor kick chase gifted Oxford with the chance to attack and their forwards drove over from close range for a converted try.
The win means Slough now stand in fifth position in the league table ahead of a return to action at third-placed Milton Keynes on Saturday 15th February (2.30pm).
The Greenies will be looking to avenge the 41-29 defeat suffered in the reverse fixture back in October as well as losing to Milton Keynes in the Bucks Bowl final earlier in the season.
