SLOUGH have suffered consecutive defeats for the second time this season after an eight-wicket loss to Banbury on Saturday.
won the coin toss and chose to bat first at Upton Court Park, the home side making 167 runs all out from 60 overs.
Number four Girinath Reddy Poreddy was the leading runs scorer with 49 from 87 balls. He fell narrowly short of a third half-century this season but the innings did increase his average to 46.60.
Nabil Shah, batting at number six, made 32 from 82 balls and the pair put on 74 runs for the fifth wicket as their side moved from 82-4 to 156-5.
Opening batsman Muaaz Ali Ahmed added 34 and Saif Zaib 22, while Rahim Akhtar (18) was the only other batsman to reach double figures.
John West was the pick of the Banbury bowlers with his figures of 4-39 from 11 overs which included the wicket of Harish Kakani for a third-ball duck.
Oliver Clarke took out Poreddy and Shah in his 3-31 from 11 overs whilst the other wickets fell to Joe Thomas (2-45 from 26 overs).
The visitors managed 168-2 from 44.2 overs in response for a fourth win this season which sees them move up to fourth position in Division One.
Opening batsman and captain Lloyd Sabin carried his bat through for an unbeaten 74 runs from 137 balls, including 11 boundaries and one maximum hit. It is his third half-century and highest score of the season.
Joe White, batting at number three, made 32 from 55 and the pair put on 62 runs for the second wicket.
Number four Shahid Yousaf starred for
Sloughlast season but he made an unbeaten 45 against his former club as well as a 72-run partnership with Sabin to see Banbury to victory.
The two wickets fell to Rishi Sharath (1-41 from eight overs) and Zaib (1-58 from 17 overs).
The defeat means Slough remain in the two relegation spots in Division One of the Home Counties Premier Cricket League ahead of a visit to Upton Court Park from rivals Datchet this Saturday (11am).
