SLOUGH are still searching for a first away win in Division One of the Home Counties Premier Cricket League this season after a 53-run defeat at Tring Park on Saturday.
The visitors won the coin toss and elected to field first, with Tring reaching 174-8 from 55 overs.
Opening batsman Alexander Woodland carried his bat through for an unbeaten 86 runs from 170 balls, which included 10 boundaries. It is his second half-century this summer and takes his average to 41.00 for the season.
Captain and number seven Shelvin Gumbs made 48 from 76 balls and the pair put on 97 runs for the sixth wicket.
Ikhlaq Nawaz was the destroyer-in-chief for
Sloughwith his figures of 5-47 from 21 overs, which included the wickets of both Mohamad Choudhry and Steven Clark for a duck. It is his first five-wicket-haul of the season and 14th in his career.
Nawaz was backed up by Saif Zaib with 2-31 from eight overs whilst the other wicket fell to Harish Kakani (1-44 from 11 overs).
Slough managed 121 runs all out from 37.4 overs in response for a defeat which sees them drop back into the two relegation spots in the division.
Number three Zaib was the leading runs scorer with 30 from 56 balls, with four boundaries and one maximum hit.
Girinath Reddy Preddy, batting at number four, made 29 from 48 and the pair put on 57 runs for the third wicket as the visitors recovered from 1-2.
Andy Harris was the best of the Tring Park bowling attack with his figures of 3-28 from 11 overs, which includes the wicket of Fasil Noor for a seven-ball duck.
Harris was backed up by Clark, with 2-5 from 3.4 overs, and Choudhry, with 2-21 from eight overs.
Slough welcome Banbury to Upton Court Park this Saturday.
