Mark Labbett from the popular ITV gameshow The Chase was sent love and support by fellow chaser Paul Sinha after suffering a "breakdown" on set.

Widely known as The Beast, Mark frequently appears alongside other quiz champions like Anne Hegerty, Darragh Ennis, Shaun Wallace and Jenny Ryan on the show.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the chaser shared how he had faced difficulties when taking on a strong team before the well-known incident.

The Chase's Mark Labbett sent support by Paul Sinha after 'breakdown' on set

Discussing the situation, which resurfaced this week, Mark Labbett said he had a "breakdown" after becoming "utterly demoralised" by facing another "star" team.

The Chase star said he did applaud the team after their win but claimed this was taken out, telling fans: "I still applauded and congratulated the team but it was edited out."

Jumping to his defence, Paul Sinha (The Sinnerman) commented: "It's easily lost we're not robots, we're human beings trying our best. Whatever you see on screen is a snapshot of us at an unspecified moment sometime in the last 18 months".

He added: "We could have been under stress for any number of reasons, much of [which] may be long forgotten."

According to The Mirror, fans were also quick to send their love and support to the beloved gameshow icon.

One user on the social media platform said: "It's the most frustrated I have seen you! On the bright side my wife and I were laughing at how grumpy you looked but in a nice way if that's possible. All part of the twists and turns that great show provides."

Another said: "You could tell halfway through with the tone in your voice you knew that you had been beaten..."

A third added: "Sorry to hear that, though was clear you weren't yourself. Hope you're back to your brilliant bullying best soon. You'll always be the chaser we fear the most (well, maybe second to [Anne] lol)".
