A 20-year-old man has been sentenced for drug dealing and carrying a firearm in Oxford and Slough.
Joseph Katende, 20, of Cotton Avenue, Ealing, was jailed for a total of 10 years following a hearing at Oxford Crown Court on Monday, November 18.
At the same court on May 13, Katende pleaded guilty to four counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, heroin and cocaine, and one count each of; possession of cannabis, possession of a prohibited firearm, and possession of ammunition without a firearms certificate.
The charges relate to incidents on July 21 last year in Slough and March 12 this year in Oxford where Katende was found to be in possession of drugs.
When Katende was stopped in Oxford he was also found in possession of a firearm.
Katende was arrested on March 12 and charged with all offences the following day.
Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Chris Bennett, said: “We will never tolerate drug dealing in our communities, which often harm the most vulnerable people.
“We will continue to proactively target and prosecute offenders, like Katende, and we will be visible and covert in our efforts to disrupt and pursue offenders who are involved in the supply of drugs.
“The information from the public around the drug supply offences plays an important role in developing intelligence into a proactive investigation.
