GCSE music students at Westgate School, Slough, experienced a live rehearsal by the Slough Philharmonic Orchestra.
The students were seated in the middle of the orchestra, giving them a close-up view of the instruments, their size, grandeur, and unique playing techniques.
This experience is expected to be beneficial for the students' listening exam preparation, where orchestral music is significant in the Concerto Through Time and Film Music topics, which constitute over half the exam.
For many students, it was their first time witnessing a live orchestra, with one student expressing enthusiasm for future concerts.
The orchestra also enjoyed the students' presence, wishing them well in their exams.
The school expressed gratitude to the orchestra for an 'inspiring and educational evening.'
