Flood alerts are in place for areas around Berkshire, with people advised to avoid low lying land and paths by the River Enborne, the River Pang, and the Lower River Kennet.
The alert covers areas that extend into central Reading, as well as around Tidmarsh, Pingewood, Mortimer, Brimpton, and Bucklebury.
Flooding is also expected around Chertsey Bourne and South Ascot.
Environment Agency staff are monitoring the situation and clearing trash screens along the waterway.
Property flooding is not currently expected, according to the government agency.
In a statement, a spokesperson said: "River levels are rising on the Lower River Kennet as a result of heavy rainfall from Storm Bert.
"Therefore, flooding of low lying land and roads is expected this afternoon and overnight (Sunday, November 24).
"Further heavy rainfall is forecast this afternoon. Avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses."
In September, councillors warned that areas around Reading "have a long and difficult winter ahead" torrential rainfall across the summer has left some waterways ready to burst.
