Officers from Thames Valley Police in Slough are cracking down on shoplifting with an emphasis on prolific offender as part of an operation going on across the region.
The aim of Operation Purchase is for officers to start conversations with local stores in order to provide them with the support they need.
Specific neighbourhood officers have been chosen to work alongside this operation.
On Saturday, November 16 and Sunday, November 17, an array of offenders were arrested and sentenced for shoplifting crimes.
Three prolific offenders were arrested, 14 received criminal charges, one offender was sentenced and two are on remand awaiting sentencing.
Thames Valley Police from Slough said: “If you’re a retailer who has been impacted by high volumes of thefts, please make sure you report offences via 101/999.”
