A popular Berkshire pub has launched a new Indian restaurant introducing ‘smart dining’ to families across Berkshire.
The White Hart, located in Holyport, Maidenhead was taken over by Nand Yadav in 2022 as the new owner.
He first introduced pub grub after taking over the pub including a hearty Sunday roast which has become a highlight, appealing to both locals and visitors.
This is following his expansion with Ninaya Catering.
Yadav recently decided to open a dining area separate from the bar selling a host of delicious Indian dishes.
After testing the idea with customers during the World Cup, he discovered that there was a market for Indian cuisine with his current customers and people coming from further afield.
He said: I’ve worked as a professional chef for 25 years. I arrived in the UK in 2007, gaining experience in fine dining and Rosette standard establishments including working under the leadership of Gordon Ramsey.”
His gastronomic journey began in India in 1999, where he honed his skills in Indian regional cuisine while working within 5 Star Hotels.
Under the guidance of the esteemed Qureshi Family, Nand mastered the art of blending spices and balancing flavours.
Prior to taking over the White Hart, he acquired a bustling pub near Heathrow where he showcased his culinary experience and gained popularity among locals.
Nand added: “I saw a very high demand for good food around Berkshire and I wanted to create a destination pub that families and friends want to travel to.
“I have experience working in fine dining restaurants but when running my own pub and restaurant I wanted to make it more comfortable and affordable, so I dubbed it ‘smart dining’.
“I am giving them a fine dining experience with good quality food but keeping it in an affordable price range.”
The pub originally started serving food in 2022 with pub grub and Sunday roasts.
The pub’s restaurant area will now serve as an Indian restaurant and the pub will serve pub grub so there is a choice for every individual.
Nand's commitment to excellence led him to explore upscale volume-based catering opportunities, including exclusive assignments for high-profile clients such as the Hinduja brothers, Strictly Come Dancing crew, and Eastenders at Elstree Studios.
His Indian street food stall at the renowned 2022 Chelsea Flower Show garnered widespread acclaim.
Now, Nand has decided to dedicate himself to The White Hart, where he aims to bring the very best of his culinary experience to patrons, offering large and small catering events, corporate gatherings, and birthday parties, either at their doorstep or at The White Hart itself.
