A man has been jailed for three years and nine months for burglary, theft, and fraud including an incident where he stole a box of smoothies.
Robert Farrell, 48, of Calbroke Road, Slough, was sentenced at a hearing at Aylesbury Crown Court on Wednesday, November 13.
It followed a trial at the same court in which Farrell was found guilty of two counts of burglary in a dwelling, two counts of theft of a motor vehicle, one count of burglary other than a dwelling, and six counts of fraud by false representation.
The convictions relate to incidents that happened in Slough and Taplow between January 2024 and April 2024.
The residential burglaries and theft of motor vehicles relate to two incidents on separate days, where Farrell broke into unoccupied houses.
He took valuables such as such as iPads, games consoles and other electronic items.
On both occasions, he stole vehicles from the properties and took bank cards.
He then spent fraudulently on the cards he had stolen making six separate purchases.
He also broke into a garage and stole a box of smoothies and a box of fireworks for which he was charged with burglary non-dwelling.
Farrell was arrested on 8 May 2024 and charged the following day.
Investigating Officer, Detective Constable Natasha Ballard-Brown, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the witnesses and victims for their support, as we would not be able to successfully investigate these crimes without members of the public coming forward and assisting us.
“Farrell showed no regard for how his offending impacts victims, and I am pleased that he has now been given a custodial sentence which I hope will be of some comfort to the victims.
“Burglary and other acquisitive crimes such as these significantly impact local communities and hard-working members of society, and Thames Valley Police is committed bringing justice to these offenders.”
