Plans to convert offices into 49 flats shut down (RBWM apps 24/02171-24/02173, 24/02156, 24/02157, 24/02159)
Plans to convert an entire business park into flats in Maidenhead have been refused.
The owner of the Switchback Park applied to convert all six buildings in the business site into a total of 49 flats.
The planning team at the Royal Borough determined that the conversion plans did not comply with spacing standards, failed to present information on safe vehicular access to the site, and failed to demonstrate that there would be
adequate natural light to all habitable rooms created.
The six plans were refused on Monday, November 4.
Conversion of dentists into pizza takeaway approved (24/02092/ADV and 24/02091/FULL)
A building owner has won approval to convert the Damira Dental Studios in Queen Street, Maidenhead town centre into a pizza chain.
The dentist practice that has been around since 2016 can now be converted into a Tops Pizza chain takeaway.
An approved advertising plan shows the blue and purple branding of the dentists being replaced with the chain's trademark tophat logo and black colouring.
The owner required planning consent from the Royal Borough because takeaways fall outside of Class E use, which covers retail, offices, cafes and diners but not takeaways.
Use of garage as habitable annexe refused (P/20379/000)
A homeowner has failed to obtain a legal certificate confirming the use of their garage as an annexe.
The building is a one-storey garage that is part of a semi-detached house in Flamborough Spur.
The owner had submitted a floorplan purportedly showing living space and a separate bathroom.
However, the application for a legal certificate was rejected by Slough Borough Council's planning department, which judged that evidence was not sufficiently precise and unambiguous enough to establish the garage had been used as a flat continuously for the last four years.
Division of house into two homes in village refused (Slough app P/19100/003)
A plan to convert a house in Daventry Close, Colnbrook into two separate homes has been refused.
The owner was hoping to transform the house that is currently undergoing a renovation project to provide a three-bed and a two-bed flat.
The project was refused as it would result in the loss of a family home, and failed to provide enough parking spaces and garden space for one of the proposed flats.
