A Slough bridge is set to be demolished this weekend following increasing reports of ‘anti-social behaviour’.
Plans were submitted to Slough Borough Council in August to remove the bridge which was built in 2005 alongside the supermarket giant Tescos.
Originally the stairway and footpath were created on Wellington Street to provide pedestrian access between the store and the rest of the town centre.
Following the closure however, it has been described as ‘unsightly’ and a site for ‘anti-social behaviour’ within the town.
According to the council, the bridge will be removed between 8pm on Friday, November 8 and 6am on Monday, November 11.
This will mean that the Slough bus service within the town centre will take a different route for two days this weekend.
