Residents of a care home and nursery children joined forces to celebrate the Harvest Festival.
Care UK's Mountbatten Grange, located on Helston Lane, Windsor, welcomed children from William Street Day Nursery for a day of autumnal fun.
The event was organised to teach the young and old about the origins and significance of the Harvest Festival, a tradition that celebrates the gathering of crops and the gratitude for food.
The day was filled with autumn crafts and musical games, providing an opportunity for the residents and children to bond.
Pauline Robinson, a resident at Mountbatten Grange, said: "I really enjoyed engaging with the children and singing songs.
"Harvest Festival is important because there is a lot of community engagement and the activities with the children are always lovely."
The Harvest Festival is a time-honoured tradition that dates back to when communities relied on local crops for sustenance and farmers would express their gratitude for a successful harvest.
Debbie Winwood, home manager at Mountbatten Grange, said: "It was fantastic to welcome William Street Day Nursery children to Mountbatten Grange to celebrate the annual Harvest Festival tradition and explore its importance today.
"Harvest Festival is a day in the calendar where we can reflect and show gratitude for the food that we have, while serving as an opportunity to connect with others, regardless of age or background, and celebrate the cultural diversity which helps make Windsor a great place to call home.
"Everyone had an a-maize-ing day and we’re already looking forward to our next event with the children as we race towards Christmas."
