Several events are taking place in Slough this month to celebrate Diwali.
Diwali, the festival of lights, is a religious observance commemorated by Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and some Buddhists around the world.
Every year, millions of people around the world attend firework displays, prayer services and festive events in celebration of the occasion.

Diwali holds significance for a variety of reasons, one of the core themes of the festival, as symbolised by the prevalence lights, is the triumph of good over evil.
So if you want to join in on the celebrations, here is a host of activities taking place across Slough.
On Saturday (November 2), there is a planned Diwali dinner and dance being hosted by the Haveli Banquet Slough.
It will take place from 7pm until midnight at the Haveli Conference and Banquet in the High Street.
Describing the event online, the organisers wrote: “Celebrate the Festival of Lights in style at our Diwali Dinner & Dance 2024 event.

“Join us for a fun-filled evening of delicious food, lively music, live fireworks, and of course, lots of dancing.
“Put on your best traditional attire and get ready to immerse yourself in the festive spirit with friends and family.

Tickets costs £38.62 and can be bought online at Eventbrite.
On Saturday, November 9, there will be a host of Diwali cultural performances to celebrate.
The event, organised by The Indian Diaspora in the UK (IDUK) will take place from 4.30pm until 6.30pm in the Queensmere Observatory Shopping Centre, outside Primark, in the Slough Town Centre.
Writing about the event online, the IDUK said: “The Indian Diaspora in the UK (IDUK Group) warmly invites you, your family, and friends to join us in celebrating Diwali on Slough High Street.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to experience and showcase Indian culture through vibrant dance performances in the heart of Slough.”
The dress code is Indian ethnic wear.

On the same day, there will be a Diwali dinner and dance party at the SK Baylis House Hotel.
The event will take place from 7pm until 11.30pm at the hotel in Stoke Poges Lane and tickets cost about £49.46 from Eventbrite.
Writing online, organisers say: “Join us for a Diwali Dinner and Dance Party like no other, where we fuse the allure of tradition with the excitement of Bollywood beats, creating an unforgettable experience at the meticulously adorned heritage building Baylis House, where the past and present come together to create a truly magical experience.”
