A special Christmas gift is being launched for railway enthusiasts.
Great Western Railway (GWR) has collaborated with The London Christmas Company to create a unique Christmas tree ornament that pays homage to the iconic Class 43 High-Speed Train (HST).
The ornament has been crafted from pure brass, finished in 24-carat gold, and screen-printed in vibrant colours.
This is set to be a prized keepsake in any train lover's collection.
The ornament is available for purchase now, with a 20 percent discount available before November 1.
Dan Panes, GWR's head of external communications, said: "For railway enthusiasts, customers, and colleagues alike, the High-Speed Train (HST) represents more than a train – it holds a deep emotional connection tied to reunions, celebrations, and nostalgia.
"This collaboration with The London Christmas Company pays tribute to that bond, combining exquisite craftsmanship with the spirit of Christmas to honour the HST’s legacy.
"The final four of Castle Class sets are scheduled to be retired from service in 2025, so this partnership seemed the perfect way to celebrate the upcoming festivities and pay tribute to a national treasure at the same time."
To mark the launch, GWR will also hold a special competition on their social media channels in November.
The winner will receive three GWR Christmas ornaments, along with 11 other iconic ornaments, including a gold state coach, polar bear, and Queen Elizabeth II Christmas gifts.
The partnership between GWR and The London Christmas Company will continue beyond the Class 43 HST ornament.
They plan to release new designs yearly to celebrate other cherished trains.
Jason Kelly, founder of The London Christmas Company, said: "Partnering with GWR for the debut of this new collector’s item was a natural choice.
"This collaboration allows The London Christmas Company to align with a brand that embodies the same values of quality, heritage, and craftsmanship.
"By commemorating the Class 43 HST – the beloved icon of British rail – our ornament bridges the legacy of GWR with our own dedication to creating timeless, meaningful products.
"GWR’s legacy of pioneering locomotives perfectly complements our commitment to innovation and craftsmanship.
"Each ornament captures the essence of GWR’s engineering prowess, creating a piece that both celebrates and preserves its remarkable achievements."
The Class 42 HST, also known as Intercity 125, is a highspeed diesel locomotive, which can reach speeds of up to 148 mph.
HST holds the record of the fastest revenue diesel passenger train, when it hit 144 mph between Newcastle, and London King’s Cross, on the East Coast Main Line (ECML).
