A 33-year-old man will spend nearly three years behind bars are he admitted to attacking and robbing an elderly woman.
Michael Fenwick, of no fixed abode was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on October 24 for the incident that took place on June 28 this year.
The court heard how Fenwick approached a 74-year-old woman in the car park of Tesco in Brunel Way, Slough.
He then dragged the victim to the floor, pulling her handbag away from her before taking it.
The convicted then used the victim’s bank cards on two occasions before being arrested.
He was jailed for two years and nine months.
Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Joshua Webb, based at Slough police station, said: “Fenwick committed this robbery against a 74-year-old woman in broad daylight.
“He was arrested on the day of the offence and then quickly charged.
“This type of offence is never tolerated and I hope that this case shows how seriously crimes of this nature are taken.”
