Police have confirmed that a teenage girl has been arrested after a student was hospitalised after a suspected 'knife incident' in Slough. 

The incident occurred between two female pupils at Ditton Park Academy on Tuesday, October 22.

Thames Valley Police confirmed that a girl, 14, was arrested after a student suffered 'superficial wounds' on her face.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We are aware of an incident of assault occurring at Ditton Park Academy School in Slough yesterday.

“We have been carrying out an investigation and a 14-year-old girl from Slough has been arrested in connection with this incident. She has since been released on conditional bail.

“The victim, a girl in her teens, suffered a superficial facial wound which required hospital treatment, and she has now been discharged.

“We understand that this incident may cause concern locally, but we would like to reassure you that there is no risk to the wider public.

“We are working closely with the school following this incident and you may notice an increased police presence. If you have any concerns, please speak to a uniformed officer.

Headteacher Nick Caulfield, confirmed that the emergency services were called to the school following the incident and parents were immediately informed.

He said: “This incident was managed swiftly with no further injuries to other pupils or staff.

“Pupils, parents and staff are being offered appropriate support should any of them need it.

“The matter is now being dealt with by Thames Valley Police.”
