A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a teenage boy has died in a crash involving a motor cycle in Datchet.

The crash happened outside the Liquid Leisure Centre on the Horton Road in Datchet, Berkshire, at about 4pm on Saturday.

His next of kin have been informed and they are being supported by Thames Valley Police officers.

A 56-year-old man from Datchet, initially arrested on suspicion of drink-driving, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, Thames Valley Police said.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Stuart May of Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit, said: “First and foremost, my thoughts are with the families and friends of the two victims, one of whom sadly died in hospital this afternoon.

“Initially, the reports of the road traffic collision were unclear. It was first reported that a bus was involved in the collision, which was not correct. Further, there was speculation that a police vehicle had been pursuing the motorbike before the collision, which was also untrue.

“However, due to enquiries by the force, it was established that a car may have been involved in the collision.
