A Langley cat has been reported "in massive distress" by over 10 concerned people in the local community.
The RSPCA received these calls from neighbours on the weekend beginning Friday, October 12.
The cat owner insists the pet is fine and has accused people of attempting to steal the cat.
Because the owner claims the pet does not require assistance, a case of animal cruelty has been reported to the RSPCA.
The cat has been reportedly left outside and has appeared in distress for several weeks.
The RSPCA is said to be reviewing the case, but no action has been taken yet.
One neighbour, who has worked in cat rescue for over five years, said: "I have never received any help from the RSPCA in cases of cruelty, abandonment, or road traffic injury on a stray.
"This case is a very clear example of what they should be doing, but never do."
The neighbours are urging the RSPCA to act promptly.
