A shoplifter has been jailed for a spate of thefts from a One Stop shop in Slough.
Yousef Zekari, aged 34, of no fixed abode, has been sentenced to 12 weeks in prison after appearing at Reading Magistrates’ Court.
Zekari pleaded guilty to six counts of shoplifting and two counts of breaching court bail at the same hearing.
Zekari stole items from One Stop in Elmshott Lane multiple times between 15 August and 4 September, despite being on court bail on two occasions.
Zekari was charged on October 4.
Sergeant Charlie Etheridge, from the Operation Purchase team based at Slough police station, said the force wanted to "dispel the myth that people can steal from shops with impunity."
The police sergeant said: “We are proactively targeting the prolific shoplifters who target Slough’s shops.
“Our team has had a series of excellent results in recent weeks, with Yousef Zekari the fourth person sent to prison following our investigations in as many weeks.
“The message from the Op Purchase team is clear – if you are caught stealing from shops in the Slough, you will be prosecuted with the full weight of the law.”
Last month, Luke Betts, aged 36, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to eight months’ in prison after he pleaded guilty to four counts of shoplifting and one count of breach of a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) in a hearing at Reading Crown Court.
He was found shoplifting less than a month after receiving a police order banning him from a various shops.
He is barred from entering any Co-op and any Morrison's food store in England and Wales;
