A well-known Maidenhead eatery has been dubbed the best takeaway in Berkshire and across the south central region during a prestigious Asian restaurant and takeaway awards.
The Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards 2024 took place at Royal Lancaster on October 6.
Dozens of Asian restaurants from across the UK gathered in celebration to honour the businesses and their cuisine.
The business that was awarded ‘South Central Takeaway of the Year’ in the 2024 awards is Malik’s Express, located on Station Parade, Station Hill, Cookham.
Malik’s Express, is an award-winning restaurant and takeaway, which serves the finest Asian food cooked to the highest standards, now available to enjoy as a takeaway.
The ARTA 2024 welcomed a guest list of the nation’s most popular Asian restaurateurs alongside MPs and celebrities as they collectively honoured the achievements of the industry.

Heston Blumenthal, the six Michelin star celebrity chef who own’s the Berkshire restaurant, the Fat Duck, has dubbed Malik's of Cookham as the best Indian restaurant in the world.
Chief red carpet guest Patsy Kensit spoke at the ceremony yesterday, “I'm delighted to be part of ARTA 2024. The talent and passion of the chefs are truly inspiring, and it's an honour to celebrate such exceptional cuisine with this wonderful community”
Cambridge Regional College & ARTA Ambassador Graham Taylor said during the awards ceremony, “I'm honoured to be part of ARTA's journey. Since its establishment, I've had the pleasure of tasting incredible dishes and working with talented chefs who continue to deliver exceptional cuisine. ARTA brings together a special and inclusive community, and I'm proud to be a part of it.”
