Residents are being urged to quit smoking with free support during Stoptober.
The Royal Borough is offering a 12-week service through Smokefreelife Berkshire, funded by public health, which includes tailored support packages.
These packages feature access to a digital AI app called Quit with Bella, a personal 24/7 mentor, along with physical aids like patches, gum, and non-disposable e-cigarettes.
The council said smokers are five times more likely to quit for good with personalised support.
Approximately 16,000 people in the borough smoke, and the council is working with NHS partners to help those who want to quit.
Residents can sign up or be referred by a healthcare professional.
Councillor Catherine del Campo, Cabinet Member for Adults, Health, and Housing Services, shared her own experience as an ex-smoker, emphasising the health benefits of quitting.
She said: "I’m an ex-smoker myself, and giving up was one of the best things I ever did.
"It took me several goes and was tough, but I got there in the end.
"I’m glad there’s so much more help available to smokers now than when I stopped."
The council highlighted the immediate health benefits of quitting, such as improved oxygen levels and circulation, and reduced risk of heart attack and lung cancer over time.
According to the Office of National Statistics, the average price of a packet of twenty cigarettes is £15.84, meaning smokers could save around £3,000 a year by quitting.
