Residents from West Oak Care Home in Wokingham enjoyed a trip to Windsor.

The group visited Windsor Castle, arriving just in time to witness the changing of the guard.

They then spent time exploring the town and browsing the shops, before heading to The King and Castle pub for tea and coffee.

One resident said: "Four of us set off to the castle in the brand-new minibus. On arrival, we had to make a small detour due to the changing of the guard.

"Although we missed the guards preparing for duty at the castle, we were still lucky enough to catch the guards standing down from duty.

"They happened to be accompanied by the band which was fantastic.

"On route to the castle, we passed a small tourist shop where the West Oak team decided to buy us gifts as a small souvenir of the trip.

"I chose a small furry dog who has yet to have a name and he sits on my table in my room."
