The market will be held every Tuesday from 9am to 5pm, with the first held on September 17. The market will be a traditional general market with up to 15 traders, and will be located in the pedestrianised area of the town centre high street.

Paylet Ltd, which has more than 40 years of experience in developing, launching, delivering, operating, and managing markets and events, will be running the market.

Its current regular markets include Portobello Road Vintage and Young Designers Market, Harrow Town Centre Weekly Market, and North Finchley Market.

The company aims to deliver a regular and sustainable market, with many of the traders being 'long-term,' and selected to meet the needs of the customer base.

Clarissa Parker, Slough BID manager, said: "Slough BID view this initiative as a positive for the town centre, driving footfall and interest to the high street with the aim to develop a strong local following.

"Over the course of trading, the aim will be to continually evolve and improve the market offer, working with local stakeholders, local businesses, local charities, and traders themselves.

"Paylet also deliver a variety of events and visiting themes, including collectors fairs, Christmas events, and vegan markets, which Slough BID and Paylet Markets will look to bring to the town centre over the coming months.

"Local resident, businesses, and market visitor response has been extremely encouraging."

This new market follows the successful Young Trader Market Event held in the Queensmere Observatory Shopping Centre, Slough, on April 12, 2024.

The event saw both Ken-sho and Poppy Orange reaching the final, where they competed to win the title of Young Trader of the Year 2024.
