A dog friendly café has been awarded runner-up in the ‘best café’ category in a national competition for ‘small businesses' after launching in the village of Wraysbury in 2022.
The Kitchen, situated on Wraysbury High Street was opened in March 2022 by Nicky and Garry Hall.
Since they opened their doors to locals, the eatery has gone from strength to strength, with people coming from miles around to experience their delicious food and relaxing atmosphere.
Nicky and Garry’s daughter, Nelli, has also joined her parents alongside the running of the café, making their delicious cakes and pastries.
Garry expressed his excitement at receiving the prestigious award where they went up against café’s from across the UK.
He said: “We were absolutely ecstatic to receive the award especially when we were against other cafes from all over the country. It’s even more special because we know it was our customers who voted for us.
“We are a real community-based café and we’re only really interested providing high quality food and service to customers. Most of our customers are locals but we do get people visiting from outside the village because of word of mouth.”
The family made the decision to open in Wraysbury village after leaving the corporate world.
Their passion for good quality food and local community values is one aspect that has made the business so successful.
Garry added: “The fact that we are community minded I feel is reflected in our café and is why it has been so successful over the years.”
The family have made the eatery a welcoming place for dog owners who often choose to drop in for a coffee.
A local resident, that contacted us about the news said: “They have proven themselves a worthy asset in our village High Street and worthy winners of the award.
