A primary school on the Buckinghamshire/Berkshire border was forced to close due to a damaged roof.
In the afternoon of Monday, September 9, a call was made to the police regarding an incident at Lent Hill Rise School along Coulson Way in Burnham.
A very brief statement published via Thames Valley South Buckinghamshire’s Facebook page on the same day said: “The Neighbourhood team attended Lent Hill Rise School after an incident last night, during which damage was sustained to the roof.
“One arrest was made, and no other persons are outstanding.
“The roof is being repaired and school will reopen tomorrow [Tuesday, September 10].
“PCSO C9791 will be at school tomorrow during drop-off.”
A banner on the school’s website also confirms that the school will reopen ‘as normal’ on Tuesday morning.
Despite the unorthodox start to the new school year for Lent Hill Rise, the establishment recently received a ‘Good’ Ofsted score following a recent inspection.
A section of the report reads: “The school’s ambitious curriculum demonstrates its commitment to high standards.
“In each subject, staff have clearly outlined the key content they expect pupils to learn and have organised it carefully so that knowledge builds over time.
“ This supports teachers to know precisely what to teach and when.”
