A new Nando’s in Maidenhead town centre is closer to opening after plans were submitted to the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Council.
The peri-peri chicken restaurant chain has applied for permission to redevelop a shopfront and put up adverts at a unit on the One Maidenhead development.
Nando’s has previously suggested the restaurant could open this year. In a statement in January Nando’s said: “We’re excited to be bringing the heat to Maidenhead with our new restaurant in Taplow, set to open in 2024.
“Our team is busy getting our brand-new restaurant ready to welcome our new customers and serve our iconic peri-peri flavour.”
Plans to open a new Nando’s at One Maidenhead on King Street were first discovered in January, when a building control application for the eatery was submitted to the council. A covering letter submitted with the plans on August 20 also suggests there will be outdoor seating.
The new town centre Nando’s comes after another branch of the chain opened at the Bishop Centre in Taplow in June.
Nando’s said in January: “There’s been a lot of excitement around the news of the two new openings in the area, so we’re looking forward to firing up the grills and welcoming peri-peri fans to our new restaurants in Taplow and Maidenhead.
