The Big Ascot Food & Wine Festival is coming to Ascot Racecourse this Friday and Saturday (September 6 and September 7), for an end-of-summer celebration featuring food, flat races, and talks from expert chefs.

Organised in association with Chapel Down, the event will feature a host of foodie exhibitors including Borough 22 Bakehouse, Hampton Court Spirits, Tuga Pastries Ltd, The Greek Farmer, Kimchi With Everything, and The Homemade Brownie Company, to name a few.

Races will take place all afternoon on both days of the festival.

Highlights include the Heritage Handicap run at 2.10pm on the Saturday, covering one mile (about four furlongs) and with a total prize fund of £100,000.

The race was memorably won by Chalk Stream, in 2021, for Queen Elizabeth II.

Elsewhere, attendees can learn from culinary greats like James Tanner, Paul Ainsworth, and pastry chef Sarah Frankland in a series of food demonstrations hosted by Waitrose development chef Will Torrent.

Farmer Tom will also be in attendance to deliver a talk on sustainable farming.

Those looking for something extra special can book the Panoramic Restaurant for a four-course meal, the Festival Flavour lunch, to include canapés, drinks, and afternoon tea.

The Festival Flavour lunch will include dishes curated by guest chefs including Alex Payne, Adam Smith, Sarah Frankland, and James Tanner.

The racing will be viewable from an exclusive balcony on the sixth-floor restaurant.

On the Friday, tickets to the Queen Anne Enclosure cost £20; tickets to the King Edward VII Enclosure cost £30, booked in advance; and an upgrade to VIP Demo Seating, with a goody bag, costs an additional £10.

On the Saturday, tickets to the Queen Anne Enclosure cost £30; tickets to the King Edward VII Enclosure cost £40; and an upgrade to VIP Demo Seating, with a goody bag, once again costs an additional £10.
