A Section 60 order has been put in place following a ‘serious incident’ in Slough.

In the evening of August 31, a ‘number of people were involved in a fight’ along the town’s High Street, which resulted in numerous arrests being made.

Following the brawl, Thames Valley Police confirmed that a Section 60 order has been implemented to ‘prevent any disorder’.

Information about those who have been arrested has not been made public.

A spokesperson from Thames Valley Police said: “The order temporarily allows police officers greater powers to stop and search.

“The order began at 11.30pm on Saturday and will be in place for 24 hours.

“If necessary, the order can then be extended.”
