A grassroots football club recently held its first Family Health and Wellness Event to promote community well-being.
Hurricane FC, which is just 13 months old, held the event in partnership with Cardo, supported by voluntary sector bodies including Slough CVS, Good Gym Slough, Health and Wellbeing Slough, and The Slough Hub.
Attendees were able to receive health checks and register for health and wellness programmes.
A key note was nutritionist Bradley Wren's speech to both families and young footballers, emphasising the importance of making informed dietary choices.
Sairah, social value manager at Cardo, said: "We are thrilled to have partnered with Hurricane FC and local organisations for this event, bringing the community together to focus on health and wellness.
"It's inspiring to see families taking active steps towards a healthier lifestyle, and we're proud to support such an initiative that promotes wellbeing in Slough."
Violet, a mother who attended the event with her children, said: "The kids had so much fun, and I got many tips and insights on my health and how to take better care and keep track of it."
While heavy rain scuppered plans to hold family football drills and a match outdoors, the event moved smoothly indoors to the 3rd Upton Scouts Hut where health checks took place and children enjoyed traditional games such as hoopla.
Cardo supplied sports equipment, activities, and prizes for the younger attendees, along with refreshments.
