Improvements are on the way at a Waitrose store in Maidenhead.

The supermarket in Moorbridge Road has a wide range of food and fresh produce and services that Waitrose has a reputation for.

Now the company is making improvements to the store to make shopping easier for click-and-collect customers.

Changes involve altering the ground floor layout to convert the customer entrance into a click-and-collect area, updating merchandising and service counters and reconfiguring and expanding self-scanning tills.

Furthermore, Waitrose is modifying and reproviding the customer toilets to accommodate so that a new click-and-collect counter can be installed.

A spokesperson for Waitrose said: "We will share more plans with customers next month, however they can look forward to some exciting changes .

"We expect to test more new concepts and services so our Maidenhead store and customers will have a key role in shaping our blueprint for what Waitrose stores could be like in the future."

Waitrose currently has a licence to sell alcohol during its opening hours.

The supermarket is open from 7.30am to 9pm Tuesday to Friday, 7.30am to 8pm on Saturdays, 10am to 4pm on Sundays and 8am to 6pm on Mondays.

Waitrose has had to apply for a minor variation to its alcohol sales application.

You can view and comment on this application by typing in reference 070232/LAPL04 into the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead's (RBWM) licensing portal.

The deadline for responses is Tuesday, August 27.

Waitrose has been contacted for more information.

The supermarket also has plans to change its plant equipment to install a heat pump.

New roof plant equipment was approved by RBWM's planning department in February last year, and applied to make adjustments to that project this month.
