A kebab joint in Windsor wants to reduce the number of bouncers it is required to use on busy club nights.
The Lebanese Kebab House in Victoria Street serves up kebabs, wraps, meze and more for those looking for an evening meal and revellers in the town.
It is currently open from 4pm to midnight on most days, and until 4.30am on Fridays and Saturdays. As a condition of the late-night sale of food and other refreshments, business owner Ossama Kasmani is required to hire two bouncers on Friday and Saturday nights from midnight until closing.
Mr Kasmani has applied to change that condition to have just one bouncer during those hours while a nearby nightclub is not trading.
It is understood the application refers to the former Atik Nightclub in William Street, which closed in February this year and is currently on the market for a guide price of £3.5 million.
Mr Kasmani's application would effectively reduce the number of bouncers to one indefinitely, until the former Atik building is brought back into use.
Bouncers are referred to as door supervisors in the application, with these staff members requiring licenses from the Security Industry Authority (SIA).
The application for the change has been submitted to the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead's (RBWM) licensing department.
You can view and comment on the application by typing reference 24/07152/LACC03 into the council's planning and licensing portal.
