Slough: Asda petrol station (P/05370/079)

Slough Borough Council has given approval to Asda’s plan to manage its card-only pay at the pump at its petrol station on Telford Road.

An Asda spokesperson told the Observer that its forecourt at the Telford Road superstore had already transitioned to pay at the pump only.

But it needed to get approval for its management plan from the council’s planning department. This is to meet a condition of the original planning application for the petrol station approved in 2016. The council approved the management plan on Wednesday, August 7.

The management says the option to pay at the kiosk will end. But it says trained staff will be on hand on the forecourt and at the superstore. The spokesperson said Asda stores will continue to accept both cash and card payments.

Slough: community diagnostic centre (P/09190/038)

Frimley Health Trust has got the final go-ahead for plans to build a new community diagnostic centre at its Upton Hospital site on Albert Street.

The trust was granted full planning permission for the centre – where patients will go for scans and tests – by councillors in March this year. But the trust and planning officers had to negotiate and agree planning conditions before formal approval was granted on Tuesday, August 6.

Slough: barber conversion (P/04778/002)

A barber on Chalvey Road could become a restaurant according to plans submitted to Slough Borough Council.

A planning application asked for permission to change the use of K’s Barbers to a restaurant with a kitchen preparing hot food.

Council planning officers said permission for the change of use wasn’t required. But they did say the applicant would need to apply for planning permission to install an extractor fan.

Windsor and Maidenhead: church hall (24/01389/FULL)

Plans to demolish a church hall and replace it with a four bedroom house in Windsor have been withdrawn.

Rackham Planning asked for permission from the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead to demolish St Luke’s church hall on St Luke’s Road and replace it with a home.

But the application was withdrawn on Monday August 5. This came shortly after council highways officers raised concerns about visibility for vehicles entering and leaving the site.
