The mayor for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Councillor Simon Bond has been visiting key events in the local community to show his support for all the crucial services and fundraising activities.
One such event was when Cllr Bond visited the Relay for Life, a running event to raise money that will go towards cancer research.
The event took place on July 21 at Ascot Racecourse where the mayor met a member of the community who did the whole 24-hour sponsored walk herself as her team mates had to back out due to illness.
The councillor posted the following statement:
"Today at the brilliant Relay for Life fundraising for cancer research at Ascot Racecourse, met someone who did the whole 24-hour sponsored walk herself as her team mates had to cry off (presumably Covid), an excellent effort. Great to support as every family must be affected."
