A major roundabout just off two motorways is set to be closed this month for ‘essential maintenance work'.

The Braywick Roundabout on the A308 between Windsor and Maidenhead will for resurfacing between the night of July 23 and the morning of July 24.

Royal Borough councillor Geoff Hill – responsible for roads across Windsor and Maidenhead – hopes for ‘patience’ while the work is underway.

He said: “The work on Braywick Roundabout, a key junction in the Royal Borough, has been timed to minimise impact on road users.

“And we would like to thank residents in advance for their patience during this period, which will help ensure that the contractor is able to complete the works as quickly as possible and with minimum inconvenience.”

The roundabout is just outside Braywick on the A304 connecting Maidenhead and Windsor and the A330 heading south towards Bracknell. It is also just off the Hollyport Interchange connecting the M4 and A404 motorways.

M4 traffic will be diverted via the A404M, the A4, the A308 and the A308. Traffic for the A308 towards Maidenhead will be diverted via the A332, A355, A4 and the A308.

The diversion route for A308 traffic towards Windsor will be via the A308, A4, A355, A332 and A308.

Councillor Hill said the planned work is an ‘essential part of the council’s road maintenance programme'.
