The new owner of a Slough country estate has been accused of dumping waste near neighbour's homes.

Dr Susan Thompson, who lives in Stoke Poges Lane, has accused the owner and staff at the Stoke Park estate of dumping potentially 'hazardous' waste near where she lives, which she fears poses a fire risk.

She provided photo evidence showing green waste and barrels being left on the verge of the site.

However, a spokesperson for the owner said the waste has been deposited at a composting site and none of the waste is hazardous.

Dr Thompson claims Stoke Park was recently taken over by Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani who has installed a private zoo featuring 200 penguins.

She said: “One side is pristine, and he’s dumping all his rubbish on our side.

“There is toxic waste, it’s so huge, it cannot be allowed. It’s no wonder we have rats along here.

“We were astonished with what we saw. There are pools of effluence. There are foxes and badgers there. It’s a shame. It’s a huge hazard for people.”

She added: “All this waste is being dumped and poses a fire risk.”

Rebuffing the claims and responding to the images showing a number of waste items at the site, a spokesperson for Stoke Park said:  "The patch of land in question has been the composting area for green (non-hazardous) waste at Stoke Park for 30 years.

"Any estate the size of Stoke Park produces organic waste ranging from grass clippings to tree prunings.

"Stoke Park works hard to ensure this waste is managed responsibly and to mitigate any impact on our neighbours.

"We have confirmed that there was no hazardous waste at the site, and what was misconstrued as hazardous was in fact routine green waste.

"We have engaged with neighbours to understand any concerns and to address any questions on the presentation of this particular patch of land."

It has previously been reported that Stoke Park was purchased by Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani for £57 million in 2021. Reports that penguins have been introduced to the site are unconfirmed.

Stoke Park is an iconic luxury hotel, golf and hospitality venue set within 300 acres of beautiful parkland estate in Buckinghamshire.

The estate is currently undergoing an extensive renovation and planning process, with a phased opening of facilities on the estate.

The current golf course on site is open on a pay-and-play basis.

Additionally, Stoke Park recently hosted The Boodles, a luxurious summer garden party with world class tennis, which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year.

The vision for the future of the estate is to conduct comprehensive upgrades to 'deliver an unrivalled experience for guests and elevate Stoke Park to a world-class status.'

The managers of Stoke Park also want to celebrate its history by restoring and enhancing The Mansion, monuments and parkland for future generations to enjoy, and conducting community outreach initiatives.
