With the warmer days officially here, there’s no better way to soak up the sunshine than with a spot of al fresco feasting.
There’s something so magical about dining by the water and the UK is home to some of the most enchanting river walks that snake through our towns and cities, as well as stunning coastlines.
So with the help of Betway, we rounded up the most popular restaurants in the UK that offer fine dining alongside the calming tranquility of the water.
The popularity of each location was measured by a unique index score, which is based on Trip Advisor rankings, Google Reviews and Instagram followers - with the lower the overall index score, the higher the ranking.
Coming out on top is The Waterside Inn in Bray. The restaurant boasts stunning views of the River Thames and the dedicated staff, alongside Chef Patron Alain Roux, have secured three Michelin Stars for their incredible menu.
Cambridge is regularly regarded as the Venice of England and Midsummer House, which came in second place, sits on the banks of the River Cam. The stylish restaurant is in a Victorian house and the idyllic location is almost as impressive as the dishes.
Dukes 92 in Manchester scored third position and has proven a huge hit with locals and visitors since it opened back in the early 90s. Located in a former stable, the grill restaurant offers plentiful plates and delicious cocktails. And in the summer months, the view of the canal at sunset is something truly special.
