NatWest is making preparations to leave Slough High Street after it closes its town centre branch in the coming months.
The bank has applied for planning permission to take down all its sign and marketing, as well as its ATMs, ahead of the closure.
Announcing the closure earlier this year, NatWest said: In a report on Natwest's Slough performance, it is stated: “With the ease of mobile and online banking fewer people are coming into the bank.
“This means we’ve had to make some tough choices about which can stay open. So, we want to make sure that we keep the branches people are using most.”
According to data from Natwest average counter transactions have reduced by 58 per cent in Slough between January 2019 and January 2023.
It also revealed that only seven people used the branch weekly and 93 business customers used the branch monthly. Closing a branch is always difficult and not a decision that we ever take lightly.”
The bank branch, located at 118 High Street will close on September 12. Following the closure, Slough customers can do everyday banking transactions at any Post Office.
The closest Natwest branch will be at Slough Trading Estate and on Maidenhead High Street.
