People in Slough are being encouraged to register to vote ahead of deadlines to apply.
Slough Borough Council is administering the procedures for the general election that is being held on Thursday, July 4.
Ahead of that, those who are not currently registered to vote must do so within a week’s time.
The deadline to register to vote is Tuesday, June 18.
You can register to vote online on the government website.
If you are not registered you will not be allowed to vote.
Furthermore, if you will be voting on the day of the poll on Thursday, July 4 you will need to provide photo ID as well.
If you do not provide photo ID you will be denied your vote until you can supply one.
Polls close at 10pm on the day of the election.
If you prefer to vote by post, you can apply to do so on the government website as well.
The deadline for a postal vote application will be reached at 5pm on Wednesday, June 19.
You can also appoint a ‘proxy’: someone else to vote in person on your behalf.
The deadline for a proxy vote application will be reached at 5pm on Wednesday, June 26.
Areas of Slough Borough are divided into two parliamentary constituencies which were reformed last year, Slough and Windsor.
Most of Slough Borough falls within the Slough constituency.
Meanwhile, the Langley Kedermister, Foxborough and Colnbrook & Poyle wards have all been placed in the Windsor constituency.
