A 32-year-old man from Berkshire has been jailed for two years after he admitted to burgling a property over 100 miles away.
Nathan Cruikshank, of no fixed abode, travelled to Worcester on the evening of Monday, October 9, 2023, in a white BMW having obscured the number plate ‘to try and hide its identity’, according to South Worcestershire Police.
He then broke into a property on Dover Avenue in the town through the rear patio door, where he stole jewellery and a BB gun.
Cruikshank then returned to Slough with the stolen items.
Video footage from inside the house shows the 32-year-old heading towards the camera to try and reduce his chances of getting caught.
However, as he left the scene, he dropped his baseball cap which helped the police with their investigations.
He was eventually arrested on Monday, February 19, 2024, after a successful operation led by Detectives from South Worcestershire Police.
Cruikshank was given a two-year custodial sentence and banned from driving following his guilty plea.
It’s not the first time the Slough man has been in trouble with the law following his most recent conviction.
In February 2018, he pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis. He was fined £146, in addition to £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
Additionally, in November 2015, he broke into a Flackwell Heath house and stole birthday presents, electronic equipment, cash and computers whilst having drugs such as cocaine, MDMA and Cannabis in his possession.
He admitted to his crimes and was sentenced to a two-year jail term in June 2016.
