A music shop and venue in Maidenhead has put forward plans to start selling alcohol as part of live music sessions and special events.

Dawkes Music and Windcraft is a music instrument store specialising in wind and brass instruments such as flutes, saxophones, trumpets and trombones.

The business occupies a spacious warehouse at the Reform Road industrial estate, where staff currently host a series of events in-store including masterclasses, live gigs and more.

Now, the business has plans to sell alcohol alongside these live music events. Dawkes Music wants to sell alcohol from 11am to 11pm each day.

The business has also applied for alcohol sales and live music to be extended until midnight for seasonal events.

In full, Dawkes Music wants to extend hours until midnight on  St Patrick’s Day, Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve, bank holiday weekends, St. Georges Day, St. David’s Day, St. Andrew’s Day and Burn’s Night.

The bid for these activities has been put together in a licensing application to the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. You can view and comment on the application by typing reference07239/LAPL01 into the Royal Borough’s planning and licensing portal.

The deadline to respond in a public consultation into the application is Monday, June 17.
