A Maidenhead pub has reopened after undergoing a six-figure renovation.

The Thatches Cottage welcomed guests back in on Saturday, May 25, after being closed since mid-April.

Refurbishment works included redecorating the inside of the pub, giving it a "new lease of life", having been "completely modernised" with vibrant décor and contemporary booths.

Outside, the pub garden now features two new heated pergolas, new seating and two brand-new outdoor TVs.

Behind the scenes, chefs are working from a newly refurbished kitchen, while visitors now benefit from a new disabled toilet facility.

Sports fans can also enjoy a choice of sports channels, both inside and outside, with eight TVs throughout the pub.

Meanwhile, an all-new drinks menu has introduced some refreshing new beers, such as Greene King favourites Flint Eye and Level Head, as well as a new cocktail range.

Food-wise, a summer menu is offering two mains for £15.49, amongst other favourites and new desserts.

The investment has created many jobs in the local community, with the team tripling due to the renovations, adding 16 new members of staff - and the pub is still recruiting.

David Pearson, General Manager of The Thatched Cottage, said: “Our team at The Thatched Cottage had a wonderful reopening bank holiday weekend welcoming back the Maidenhead community and seeing how much everyone loved the renovations.

“As the new General Manager of the Thatched Cottage, I am proud that our pub is a focal point for the community, and I can’t wait to see all our customers, both old and new, enjoying a drink and a bite to eat."
