Plans have gone in to turn a former funeral home into a restaurant.

Formerly known as Arnold Funeral Service, an applicant is hoping to transform 273 Farnham Road into a restaurant.

The property is semi-detached with a solicitor and is doors down from a row of five shops. According to the new owner, it has been "out of operation for a while".

The applicant has plans for "significant modifications" to transform the facade and "enhance the building's functionality".

The application reads: "The existing bay window on the ground floor will be replaced with a floor-to-ceiling glass frontage, providing a panoramic view from the restaurant.

"Additionally, the arch will be removed to fashion an entrance that aligns with the aesthetic of a restaurant.

"A contemporary gate will replace the existing side gate. A new metal staircase will be constructed on the side elevation to provide staff access to the upper floor, which will be dedicated to the restaurant office and bookkeeping functions.

"There is also a plan to extend the back of the property by nine meters from the existing extension, incorporating a flat roof and skylights."

An extractor flue would also form part of the extension works to the rear.

The plans document that the new restaurant would be called 'The Lost Tribe' with minimalist branding to the front. It is not clear what style of restaurant this would be.

However, plans have not yet been submitted for this element of the application.

Slough Borough Council has yet to comment on the plans.
