Police have put a Section 60 order in place in Slough after a man was threatened with a machete inside a shop.

At around 8pm on Tuesday, April 30, four males have approached a group of men on Trelawney Avenue.

One of the males has then entered a shop and threatened the men with a machete.

Thames Valley Police are investigating the incident as affray and are asking people to come forward if they have information.

The first male is described as wearing a black jumper with white writing on the chest and back, with black trousers and a blue face mask.

The second male is described as wearing all black clothing with a black face mask.

The third male is described as wearing black clothing with a navy hood, a black face covering and riding a silver bike.

The fourth male is described as wearing black clothing, with a red top underneath and a black face mask.

The Section 60 order, which will give officers extra powers to carry out stop and search checks, will be in place throughout tonight (May 1) and tomorrow (May 2).

The area covered by the order covers areas of Langley and Wexham, shown on the map.

Slough Observer:

Chief Inspector Ashley Smith said: “We are carrying out an investigation following an affray involving a group of males in Trelawney Avenue.

“As part of this, we are asking anyone with any information, including dashcam or video doorbell footage, to get in touch with us.

“If you have information you can contact us on 101, or going online, quoting reference 43240199365. You can also make a report online or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

“The order will give our officers extra powers to carry out stop and search activity, and has been enacted for the safety of the public.

“I understand that an order of this nature could cause concern, but while it may sound alarming, enhancing our stop and search powers provides us with another tactic to quickly identify and disrupt those carrying weapons.

“If you are stopped by an officer, please do not be worried as this does not mean that you are in trouble.

“Officers who are out and about are there to reassure you as well as using their powers under Section 60 so please do stop and speak with them about any concerns that you have.”
