A VENUE in Maidenhead has bid to renew its licence to continue to run as a lap-dancing club having done so for over a decade.
The Honeypot Gentlemans Club, in Queen Street, has been a lap dancing club for over 10 years, and is obligated to renew its sexual entertainment venue licence every year with the local authority.
It is one of very few gentlemans clubs in the area and in recent years has received backlash regarding its business despite being in situ for many years.
In 2022, the bar’s owner John Sennett faced objections to the licence renewal at the lap-dancing venue, with neighbours arguing it should move as its presence would ‘hold back’ the regeneration of Maidenhead.
An area of Queen Street, where the bar is located, is currently being transformed with the development of hundreds of apartments, offices and retail space as part of the One Maidenhead development.

However, the Royal Borough’s licensing sub-committee dismissed the objections and granted the licence following a meeting in May that year.
For this year’s Sexual Entertainment Venue licence renewal bid, a statutory consultation is being held by the Royal Borough Windsor and Maidenhead Council.

The bar is open from 5pm Tuesday to Saturday, with closure at 4am Thursday to Saturday, 2am on Tuesdays and 3am on Wednesdays.
