A pub known for its high-quality food and Michelin Guide status is set to close after a 15-year run.
The White Oak in Cookham has announced it will be closing this month.
In a statement from Henry on the Cookham Noticeboard, he wrote: "It is very very sad news. I am afraid that we will be leaving The White Oak and our last day will be Sunday, April 14.
"Our Lease has ended and we tried to re-negotiate a new one. It is not the landlord's fault.
"What has been a wonderful and enjoyable business for the last 15 years has become very difficult in the last 12 to 18 months.
"The financial pressures of Hospitality are acute across the board and the bridge closure has really made it incredibly difficult."
In October 2023 the Cookham Bridge closed to motorists for six months, which saw traffic significantly fall in the village as diversions were put in place.
The bridge has since reopened, with the traffic corridor between Bourne End and Cookham resuming on March 15.
Henry added: "We have loved being a part of your community in Cookham for the last 15 and a half years and I would like to Thank You all for your support.
"I have so many fond memories of events both at The White Oak and locally, friendships, neighbours, regulars new and old, and of course the excellent teams we have had over the years.
"I feel that The White Oak is the best it has ever been at the moment with Hattie and Jason at the helm and we all look forward to seeing you until we perform our last service."
A new operator will now be sought for the White Oak.
The pub has been named in the Michelin Guide every year since 2009, retaining its place.
In the guide, the White Oak is praised for its "bold flavours" and "neat, unfussy style".
A nod is also given to the "warm, friendly service", which is why the guide believes it has a loyal local following.
Greene King owns the pub and has stated their intentions to keep the property "open and trading".
A Greene King spokesperson said: “After more than 15 years of working in partnership with the operator of The White Oak and their team, we’ll be really sad to see them go.
"We know locals and regulars of The White Oak will be feeling the same way as we do, but we’d like to reassure everyone we are committed to keeping The White Oak open and trading and are in discussions to do this.”
