A FOOTBALLER has been banned from driving after being caught driving with cannabis in his system - and a two-year-old in the car.
Charlie Samuel, 29, of Spitfire Close, Slough, appeared before Reading Crown Court today (February 21).
Recorder Rachel Drake - who sentenced Samuel - said he was pulled over by police in Bath Road, Burnham, on August 13 last year.
At the time, he had a two-year-old child in the car with him. A cannabis test subsequently returned a positive result.
In light of this, Samuel pleaded guilty to a charge of driving under the influence of cannabis.
The judge handed him a 15-month driving ban. He has also been ordered to pay fines totalling £250 to the court.
Recorder Drake remarked that the conviction may impact Samuel's footballing career - but insisted this was "not my problem."
Sending the defendant out, the judge warned him: "Don't drive. And don't use cannabis."
