Three local pubs have been named amongst the best in the country.
Estrella Damm's Top 50 Gastropubs for 2024 have been revealed, with some familiar faces holding onto their rankings.
The pubs are judged by a panel of 200 experts to highlight the "brilliance and vibrancy of the UK’s eating out scenes".
Those on the panel include food writers, chefs and restaurateurs.
The Beehive in White Waltham has ranked the highest in Berkshire, coming in at number 22.
The awards have described the pub as "a beautiful British country pub offering a delicious menu, fine wine list and great cask Ales".
The pub sources locally and is a "true labour of love" according to the awards.
Current Head Chef Alex Parker, took over The Beehive in December 2023 from Dominica Chapman.
The Lock and The Tyne in Old Windsor also ranked within the top 50, coming in at number 42.
Located on Crimp Hill, the bistropub is headed by Adam Hardling who has previously been awarded Scottish Chef of the Year, British Culinary Federation’s Chef of the Year and Chef of the Year in the Food & Travel Awards.
The report by Estrella Damm said, "Adam Handling is a foodie force."
"The venue offers everything you’d expect from a modern-day gastropub, including a private dining room and somewhere luxurious and comfortable to rest your head following a sumptuous feed.
"Diners are presented with a good selection of menus, including lunch, tasting and a la carte."
The Dew Drop Inn, run by Michelin-star chef Simon Bonwick and his family has once again claimed another title after a successful two years since taking over the pub in January 2022.
The pub has bagged the number 44 spot on the rankings and has been described as a "gem of a pub" by the awards.
Situated near some "stunning walks and bridle paths" the "little pub in the woods” serves French classics made with "well-sourced" ingredients.
Just outside of the top 50, but within the coveted top 100, The Hind's Head in Bray has come in at number 92.
Heston Blumenthal’s The Hind's Head has been described as "as British as it gets" with the "quaint" pub by the river being surrounded by Tudor buildings and lots of greenery.
"The Hind’s Head lives up to its surroundings, merging classic British style and food with Heston’s modern thinking," the awards added.
Heston has been awarded several doctorates from UK universities, as well as an OBE from Her Majesty the Queen for his services to gastronomy.
