A new restaurant serving Indian and Chinese cuisine in a busy area of Slough is gearing up to open.
An eatery called ‘Chokhat’ has taken over the Karahi King restaurant at 296 Farnham Road, along one of the busiest north-south routes in the town.
Deepak Singh Dhami, the owner of Chokhat is conducting a rebrand and has been preparing to open since he took over the premises around two months ago.
He is an experienced chef who will serve Asian food favourites such as curries, noodles and dumplings, along with other specialities.
Mr Singh Dhami said: “The menu will be Indo-Chinese, mostly Indian.
“I have been a chef for 25 years, this will be my first standalone business.”

He also wants to sell alcohol to diners, and has therefore submitted a premises licence application to Slough Borough Council.
Mr Singh Dhami said: “I want to sell a range of whiskey, beers, spirits and martini, as well as soft drinks.”
Chokhat has branding with a big C letter and a peacock that replaces the red lettering and beige colouring of Karahi King.
Mr Singh Dhami has applied to sell alcohol on and off the premises from 10am to 11pm each day of the week.
